Hurricane Sandy’s 800K Photos Most Ever For Instagram, CEO Says

Hurricane turned superstorm Sandy’s landfall on October 29 and subsequent damage to the Tri-state area were chronicled in 800,000 photos posted to Instagram, the popular photo-sharing smartphone app, CEO Kevin Systrom said at the GigaOm Roadmap conference in San Francisco on Monday. That makes Sandy the single-most photographed event for Instagram so far, drastically surpassing the 85,000 photos captured during the NFL Superbowl earlier this year.
