In an interview with The Boston Globe today, Jon Huntsman wouldn’t definitively rule out an independent candidacy for president.

When asked if there was “any situation” in which he would run as an independent, Huntsman said, “I don’t think so.” But when told that anything but a firm denial could fuel further speculation, Huntsman wouldn’t give one.

“I’m a lifelong Republican. I’m running as a Republican, and I fully anticipate that that’s where we’re going to be,” said Huntsman.
