PAC+, a Hispanic super PAC aimed at increasing minority turnout this election cycle, launched its first ad Thursday attacking Mitt Romney in Arizona by tying him to Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio and Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer — two of the most reviled figures in the Latino community, reports the Los Angeles Times. The ad features Latinos in Arizona being covered by the shadow cast by Romney, Brewer and Arpaio, and ends by calling Romney “too extreme” for Arizona.

“We want to draw attention to the political significance of the state,” Said Julie Martinez Ortega, president of PAC+. Arizona “has taken on a level of symbolic importance for a lot of people, whether they’re Latino or not, who see the protection of civil rights as an important part of an inclusive America.”

Both English and Spanish versions of the ad will run for several weeks in Arizona’s largest media markets of Phoenix, Tucson and Yuma.
