U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton arrived in Tel Aviv, Israel on Tuesday as part of an effort to broker a cease-fire between Israel and Hamas as the seven-day conflict continues to take more lives.

“America’s commitment to Israel’s security is rock-solid and unwavering,” Clinton said at a news conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, further offering condolences to the lost and injured on both sides.

Clinton also praised Egypt’s leadership in on-going negotiations between Hamas and Israel, and applauded the efficiency of Israel’s ‘Iron Dome’ missile defense system.
