Former North Dakota Attorney General Heidi Heitkamp (D) has a new ad in the state’s U.S. Senate race, pitching herself as an experienced leader in the state’s energy sector, and also as an opponent of partisan gridlock in Washington.
“If anyone thinks North Dakota’s not an energy leader, they need to come here,” Heitkamp says, standing outside a natural gas plant. “For over 10 years, I’ve been a director of the Great Plains Synfuels Plant. It’s the only one like it in the country. We’re creating clean, natural gas and jobs in North Dakota towns.
“We need more innovation like this — but because of Washington gridlock, it’s not happening. I’m Heidi Heitkamp and I approved this message because we need a senator who’ll put partisan politics aside and do what’s right for our country.”
