Heinrich, Wilson To Face Off In New Mexico Senate Race

Rep. Martin Heinrich has the Democratic primary and former Rep. Heather Wilson has won the Republican primary for New Mexico’s open Senate seat, vacated by retiring Sen. Jeff Bingaman (D). Both were considered the favorites in their races: Heinrich defeated state Auditor Hector Balderas after outspending him significantly and Wilson defeated buesinessman Greg Sowards, who has lost multiple Congressional elections.
