Fox News host Harris Faulkner attempted to draw a connection during Monday’s “Outnumbered” between President Obama’s selfie-taking and the prevalence of “young people” taking selfies in inappropriate places.

Faulkner’s comments were part of a discussion about people who took selfies outside a New York City building that collapsed last week and a girl who took a selfie at Auschwitz.

As co-host Jedidiah Bila and “One Lucky Guy” Ed Henry noted that there was a time and a place for taking selfies, Faulkner chimed in with an unusual reasoning for the inappropriate behavior.

“Yeah, but the President does it,” she said.

Neither Bila nor Henry responded.

“You’ve got a whole new generation,” Faulkner said. “You’ve got a bar that’s moving now. That, that gold standard isn’t where it used to be. You’ve got a, you’ve got on a weekend we’re talking Islamic State, we’re talking all sorts of things, and you’ve got a President with a selfie stick that’s as tall as I am taking pictures of ‘I can’t get my hand in the cookie jar.'”

“But that’s different than a selfie in front of a burning building though,” Henry said.

“There’s gotta be a context to it though, right? I mean, a surrounding context,” Bila said, before getting cut off by Faulkner.

“I’m not blaming President Obama,” Faulkner said. “I’m just saying that it’s not happening in a vacuum. … You have people in positions of authority doing all sorts of silly stuff with selfies.”

Faulkner continued arguing with Bila and Henry then drove her argument home by pointing out another example of Obama taking selfies.

“What about Nelson Mandela’s funeral?” Faulkner said. “Selfie with the President.”

Tantaros agreed with Faulkner noting that the bar had been moved and was so low that “we’re tripping over it.”

“I mean it’s the selfish selfie, hence the word ‘selfie,’ self-celebration generation, right?” Tantaros said. “It’s all about self-celebrating. There’s no such thing as TMI, as Lena Dunham says. Everything is important. So if everything is important than nothing’s important, right?”
