Family members of victims of the Newtown, Conn. massacre are featured in a new ad from the pro-gun control group Mayors Against Illegal Guns. The group, co-founded by New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, said it is the first ad to feature Newtown families after the December 2012 shooting.

The group said in a written statement that the ad features “Neil Heslin, father of Jesse Lewis; Chris and Lynn McDonnell, parents of Grace McDonnell; Jillian Soto, sister of Vicky Soto; and Terri and Gilles Rousseau, parents of Lauren Rousseau.” There are two version of the TV ad, a 60-second spot and a 90-second spot. The videos were uploaded to YouTube on Wednesday.

Politico’s Mike Allen broke the news of the ad Thursday, reporting that Chris and Lynn McDonnell, Neil Heslin and Gilles Rousseau will attend President Obama’s remarks on gun violence Thursday at the White House. Politico reported that the ad is running in Connecticut on broadcast and cable TV.
