Senate Judiciary Committee Ranking Member Chuck Grassley (R-IA) told TPM on Wednesday that he isn’t aware of any organized Republican effort to thwart the confirmation of Sri Srinivasan, who is President Obama’s nominee to the powerful D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals.

“As far as I know, right now there’s no organized effort to stop him,” Grassley said.

The confirmation hearing was last week and Sriniviasan was positively received. It’s a good sign for his prospect that Republicans don’t appear to be threatening to filibuster him.

Grassley, speaking to TPM Wednesday, didn’t voice any gripes with Obama’s nominee to the nation’s second highest court, but also didn’t commit to giving him an up or down vote.

“One thing we haven’t done yet — we haven’t gone through the entire record and we don’t have the answers to follow-up questions, you know, that we had as a result of the hearing,” the senator said.
