Former Newt Gingrich presidential campaign spokesperson (and later chief of Gingrich presidential super PAC) Rick Tyler attacked the Obama campaign’s latest ad Monday for what he said was “mocking” Mitt Romney for having “the courage to stand up and sing a patriotic song.”

“When I saw that ad I was frankly disgusted,” he told MSNBC. “Not because of Mitt Romney’s poor singing but the fact that Mitt Romney is and does have the courage to stand up and sing a patriotic song and this Obama administration is somehow mocking the fact that he has the courage to stand up and sing a patriotic song.”

“I don’t see Obama singing any patriotic songs,” Tyler added.

Tyler has been critical of the Romney campaign’s response to the Obama campaign’s attacks over Romney’s time at Bain Capital, and called on the Romney campaign to release more information. Back during the primaries, a long ad Tyler’s super PAC ran against Romney that was criticial of Bain was attacked by Romney supporters as anti-capitalist
