Rep. Randy Forbes (R-VA) on Tuesday pressed San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro (D) on whether immigrants will sidestep the law if Congress passes immigration reform, and how the U.S. should respond. Forbes asked whether the U.S. government should be prepared to write a new path to citizenship if immigrants go around any new immigration policy.

Castro said if the government handles immigration reform correctly, it hopefully won’t be a problem down the line.
