Google Android’s operating system for smartphones and tablets is recognizeable today by its mascot, a bulbous green robot, or “bugbot.” But a year before Android launched in September 2008, Android engineer Dan Morrill in 2007 sketched and submitted some concept designs for alternate robotic mascots. This week*, he dug up his original sketches and posted them on his Google Plus account.
