Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R) continued on Friday to defend his belief that President Obama doesn’t “love America.”

Giuliani told the New York Post that Obama was influenced by communism when he was young.

“From the time he was 9 years old, he was influenced by Frank Marshall Davis, who was a communist,” Giuliani said, adding that Obama’s grandfather introduced him to Davis’ works.

“He doesn’t talk about America the way John Kennedy and Ronald Reagan did, about America’s greatness and exceptionalism,” the ex-mayor added.

Obama was also negatively influence by Chicago Rev. Jeremiah Wright, according to Giuliani.

“He spent 17 years in the church of Jeremiah Wright, and this is the guy who said ‘God damn America, not God bless America,'” he told the Post. “Obama never left that church.”

Giuliani also told the New York Daily News on Friday that he thinks the president grew up a communist.

“Look, this man was brought up basically in a white family, so whatever he learned or didn’t learn, I attribute this more to the influence of communism and socialism” than to his race, Giuliani said.

“I don’t (see) this President as being particularly a product of African-American society or something like that,” he continued. “Logically, think about his background. . . The ideas that are troubling me — and are leading to this — come from communists with whom he associated when he was 9 years old.”

Giuliani came under fire last week after he said Obama didn’t love America. The former mayor then explained that Obama isn’t as patriotic as other presidents were.

He insisted that his remarks on Obama weren’t racist “since he was brought up by a white mother.”
