On Fox News Sunday, Newt Gingrich reacted to reports that a U.S. service member opened fire on civilians in Afghanistan, killing as many as 16.

We have to indicate clearly and convince the people of Afghanistan that justice will be done and that we are not going to tolerate that kind of thing.

Gingrich called for an investigation and indicated that the families of the victims should be compensated for their loss, saying “we have to live up to our standards and our values.”

Gingrich called the U.S. effort in Afghanistan “a mission that may, frankly, not be doable.”
