Republican Senate hopeful Geraldo Rivera on Saturday took a dig at Newark, N.J. Mayor Cory Booker (D) for the Democrat’s famous use of Twitter.
The Fox News commentator took to the social media platform, on which Booker has developed a reputation as a prolific tweeter, to question the popular mayor’s humility:
Reading endless cascade of tweets from Newark’s Mayor Booker one wonders whether any deed however humble goes unremarked?

Booker’s direct engagement with constituents and supporters on Twitter has won him national attention. In the last two months, his Twitter activity has led him to rescuing a dog stranded in the cold and assisting with a marriage proposal.
Rivera, meanwhile, turned heads in late January when he said he is “truly contemplating” a run in New Jersey’s U.S. Senate race next year. The longtime television personality said subsequently that he would run as a socially moderate Republican.
But a pair of polls released last month showed Rivera in a weak starting position. One, from Monmouth University, showed 65 percent of Garden State voters indicating it is unlikely that they will back Rivera next year. A Quinnipiac University poll showed Booker, the frontrunner for the Democratic nomination, trouncing Rivera in a hypothetical general election matchup.
