Former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and husband Mark Kelly will be in Washington this week to push lawmakers to pass a background check bill, Kelly announced on CBS’ “Face the Nation” Sunday.
“We’re going to be on Capitol Hill,” Kelly said. “We’re going to be continuing to push for this expanded background check bill and hopefully we’ll get it through the Senate and over to the House.”
Giffords, he said, has been “reenergized by, you know, being involved in something that’s going to improve people’s lives.” Giffords and Kelly began Americans for Responsible Solutions to help push for new legislation like expanded background checks.
