Freshman Sen. Joe Donnelly (D-IN) on Thursday issued a statement to express his support for the Keystone XL Pipeline, calling on President Barack Obama to “allow the project to move forward.”

“I am a strong supporter of the Keystone XL oil pipeline,” said Donnelly.  “My work will not be done until every Hoosier who wants a job has a job, and the Keystone XL pipeline means jobs for American families and energy security for our country.  The concerns President Obama cited when he originally denied a permit for the Keystone pipeline have been met, and he should allow the project to move forward.”

On Wednesday, Donnelly joined a bipartisan group of senators in sending the White House a letter to advocate for the project after Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman (R) signed off on construction of the pipeline’s route through the state earlier this week.
