In a further sign that the Arizona Senate race has become a close fight, Republican Rep. Jeff Flake launched an ad Friday attacking Richard Carmona, the former Bush-era Surgeon General and now Democratic candidate.
The PollTracker Average currently shows Carmona with a slight edge, 43.3 percent to 43 percent, though with a relatively high undecided rate.
“Richard Carmona talks a lot about his bio. But what’s missing?” the announcer says. “Carmona’s bio doesn’t say that while he ran the Pima County Health System, their debt ran up to $46 million dollars — a jump of 28 percent in one year. Carmona was forced to resign.”
