Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett’s campaign rolled out a new set of endorsements on Sunday in the Wisconsin gubernatorial recall — giving him an inroad into the home territory of his main opponent in the Democratic primary, former Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk.
The Barrett campaign announced the support of five Madison mayors: current Mayor Paul Soglin, and former Mayors Dave Cieslewicz, Sue Bauman, Joe Sensenbrenner and Joel Skornicka.
The five individuals encompass all mayors of Madison since 1973, including three separate stretches in office by Soglin. Also notable is the endorsement of Cieslewicz, who was narrowly elected in 2003, thanks in large part to Falk’s support.
