Ryan Loskarn, who until Wednesday served as Sen. Lamar Alexander’s (R-TN) chief of staff, was expected to make an appearance in federal court in Washington D.C. on Thursday.
The Justice Department announced on Wednesday that Loskarn, a longtime Republican strategist and aide, had been arrested on charges of possession and distribution of child pornography.
Alexander on Wednesday announced that he had removed Loskarn from his payroll, and appointed a new chief of staff.
“I am stunned, surprised and disappointed by what I have learned,” Alexander said.
