Fiorina On Planned Parenthood Case: Clinton Hasn’t Been Indicted, Either

Former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina said Thursday at the Republican presidential debate that the justice system had failed to indict Planned Parenthood executives, just as it failed to indict Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton in the saga over her private email server.

Earlier this week, a Texas grand jury indicted the two anti-abortion activists who were behind heavily-doctored sting videos alleging that Planned Parenthood sold fetal tissue for profit. Debate moderator Martha McCallum asked Fiorina whether she regretted her rhetoric on Planned Parenthood, which has included a bogus description of the videos as showing the organization’s employees discuss harvesting a baby’s organs.

“You know, Hillary Clinton hasn’t been indicted either,” Fiorina responded. “So that tells us a lot about our justice system in this country. But, look, the facts of Planned Parenthood have not changed, folks, and I will not be rendered silent on this issue or any other issue and it doesn’t matter what stage I’m on.”

Fiorina made similar comments linking Planned Parenthood to Hillary Clinton’s private email controversy earlier this week in a Fox News interview. On the debate stage, she reiterated her false claim that Planned Parenthood harvests and sells “body parts.”

“The reality is, most Americans find this practice horrific. Most Americans find horrific that Hillary Clinton’s position on this is ‘It’s not a life until it’s born,'” she said. “Most Americans find horrific Hillary Clinton’s position or the Democratic Party’s position that a young woman does not need her mother’s permission to get an abortion. But if you are 13 years old, you can get an abortion but you can’t go to it a tanning salon without your mother’s permission.”

She added that “not one dime” would go to Planned Parenthood in a hypothetical Fiorina administration, even though “a lot of money” would go to women’s health.
