FBI: No Evidence We Sought Or Obtained Apple Device IDs Allegedly Exposed By Anonymous

An FBI spokesman issued this statement to TPM about a claim from the group Anonymous that the 12 million unique device identifying numbers (or UDIDs) they allegedly obtained for Apple iPhones, iPads and iPod touches came from a FBI agent’s hacked laptop:

The FBI is aware of published reports alleging that an FBI laptop was compromised and private data regarding Apple UDIDs was exposed.  At this time there is no evidence indicating that an FBI laptop was compromised or that the FBI either sought or obtained this data.
