Facebook on Wednesday revealed that conversation about Tuesday’s general election by U.S. users was the most measured for a political event on the site yet, with a Facebook Talk Meter score of 9.27 on a scale from 1 to 10. That eclipsed event the 2008 election, which was an 8.95 on Facebook’s Talk Meter.
Interestingly, younger Facebook users were responsible for the most chatter on Facebook on election day, compared to older Facebook voters, who dominated the conversation during the campaign. Facebook’s male users also outpaced women in terms of conversation on election day, and D.C. not surprisingly saw the most chatter about the election.
