Ex-Charlotte Mayor Anthony Foxx Sworn In As Transportation Secretary

Former Charlotte, N.C. Mayor Anthony Foxx (D) was sworn in Tuesday as the 17th secretary of the Department of Transportation, replacing Ray LaHood.

Foxx was confirmed unanimously last week by the Senate in a 100-0 vote. During his time as mayor, Foxx invested in infrastructural projects including the extension of the LYNX light rail system and expanding the Charlotte-Douglas International Airport.
