EMILY’s List put an additional six House Republicans “On Notice” Tuesday, a designation meaning that the group sees them has having an anti-woman record and that there is an impressive Democratic woman who may run against them.

The six added to the “On Notice” list are Reps. Joe Heck (NV-03), John Kline (MN-02), Tom Latham (IA-03), Tom Reed (NY-23), Scott Tipton (CO-03) and David Valadao (CA-21). EMILY’s List supports Democratic, pro-choice women candidates.

“Representatives Heck, Kline, Latham, Reed, Tipton, and Valadao have a record – in some cases years long – of voting for some of the most shocking anti-woman legislation in the country,” EMILY’s List President Stephanie Schriock said in a statement. “Each one of them has proven there’s no limit to how far they’ll go to roll back the clock. Whether they opposed equal pay, voted to end Medicare as we know it, or to allow hospitals to let women die rather than provide lifesaving abortion care, it’s clear they have the wrong priorities.”

Roll Call put together a list of a few women candidates who are likely to challenge these Congressmen:

  • The Des Moines Register recently profiled former state Sen. Staci Appel as a possible challenger to Latham.
  • Democratic National Committeewoman Erin Bilbray-Kohn met with Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Chairman Steve Israel of New York in January after announcing she was considering running against Heck.
  • CQ Roll Call recently reported that Colorado Democrats are looking at state Sens. Angela Giron and Gail Schwartz as possible recruits against Tipton.
