Former New York governor and Current TV host Eliot Spitzer on Tuesday weighed in on the man who previously held his job: Keith Olbermann. Spitzer said he has “enormous respect” for Olbermann, who was fired by Current last month. Olbermann brought “intensity” and “intellect” to his show at Current, he said.

Spitzer also said he has some work to do to build an audience for “Viewpoint,” which debuted to rather low ratings. “It takes time; we have work to do. It’s part of the fun,” Spitzer said. That said, Spitzer said Current provides him a platform with “more latitude” than CNN to be open and ideological.
