Reuters reports that Hosni Mubarak is in stable condition, only one day after sources reported that doctors administered a defibrillator in order to restart the former Egyptian president’s heart. Mubarak’s lawyer, who yesterday described the 84-year-old’s condition as “very critical,” has called for the former president to be moved to a medical facility outside of prison.

Mubarak is currently serving a life sentence for failing to stop the killing of protesters in early 2011. A judge has allowed both of Mubarak’s sons to remain near their father’s bedside.
