National Democrats have overwhelmingly focused their fire on Romney, but the DSCC e-mail from Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) raises the specter of a Newt presidency to try to score donations.
“Romney. Perry. Gingrich. The focus is on who’s up, who’s down, who’s going to win,” Durbin’s e-mail reads. “But you and I know that any one of them would take our nation in a terrible direction. Billionaires and huge banks would unfairly profit. Income inequality between the wealthy and poor would explode.”
