Indiana Rep. Joe Donnelly, the Democratic candidate for Senate in Indiana, previewed his general election campaign at a fundraising dinner on Saturday, reports Politico. Even though Donnelly won’t have a general election opponent until after Tuesday’s primary, Donnelly discussed the election as if he was already running against state Treasurer Richard Mourdock.
Donnelly hit on Mourdock’s opposition to the auto-industry bailout. In 2009, Mourdock even filed suit against the bailout — the only government official to do so.
“It was forced by Richard Mourdock, who wouldn’t stand up for Hoosier workers,” Donnelly said.
