Donald Trump on Wednesday morning jumped to the defense of his fellow Republican presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson, who was criticized on Tuesday for suggesting that shooting victims work together to confront a gunman.

During an interview on “Fox and Friends” on Tuesday morning, Carson explained how he would have handled a shooting.

“Not only would I not probably not cooperate with him. I would not just stand there and let him shoot me,” Carson said. “I would say, ‘Hey guys, everybody attack him. He may shoot me, but he can’t get us all.’ “
