Health care expert Donald Berwick, who ran Medicare and Medicaid under President Obama, has created a fundraising committee as he becomes more serious about running for governor of Massachusetts in 2014, the Boston Globe reports

“I’m getting more and more serious,” he said Tuesday night…

Berwick said he has not set a timeline for making a final decision. But he continues to sound like a candidate as he talks about “getting more and more excited about what I’m learning” while meeting with people around the state.

He said he is lining up volunteers for a potential campaign and meeting with professionals who may ultimately become his campaign staff.

Berwick was a recess appointment to head the  Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services in 2010 but left the administration when Republicans refused to hold a vote on his confirmation in late 2011.
