The Democratic National Committee has rolled out a new video to pre-empt Republicans’ “unity gathering” in Arizona Friday, where Sen. John McCain is set to introduce Mitt Romney. The video rehashes some of McCain’s attacks on Romney during the 2008 GOP primary.

On flip-flopping: “The governor of Massachusetts is very consistent, because he’s had at least two positions on every issue.” And: “I haven’t changed my position on even-numbered years, or changed because of the different offices that I may be running for.”

On his business experience: “He bought and he sold, and sometimes people lost their jobs.”

Romney, meanwhile, touted the support of Arizona’s other senator, Jon Kyl, who is retiring at the end of his term later this year.

From the release:

“Senator Kyl has been a leader in the Senate in the fight to cut spending, make government accountable, and to protect our country,” said Mitt Romney. “I am proud to have the support of someone who shares my vision for getting our country on the right track by allowing the private sector to flourish and getting government out of the way. Senator Kyl has been a tremendous public servant for Arizona and I look forward to working with him to reach out to Arizona voters over the next few months.”
