Thursday night at around 9 PM ET, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee sent out a letter to supporters pegged to the controversy around Rep. Darrel Issa’s (R-CA) women-free panel on birth control and religious freedom. By 9:30 AM ET, the letter had netted the DCCC close to 100,000 signatures.

The brief letter was signed by Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, and went after Issa for not hosting any women on the opening panel of his hearing into new rules aimed at expanding access to contraception. It linked to an online petition that, as of this writing, more than 95,000 have signed.

“We almost couldn’t believe it,” Pelosi wrote Thursday. “Today, at a House Oversight Committee hearing, House Republicans convened a panel on denying access to birth control converge with five men and no women.  As my colleague Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney asked, where are the women?”

The last line has become a rallying cry for Democrats Friday.
