Politico’s Mike Allen wants you to help consult for New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R).

Allen included a “SPIN THIS!” contest in his Playbook email newsletter Friday morning that encouraged readers to come up with PR strategies for Christie’s bridge scandal

“Could Christie have handled this better? If you were his P.R. adviser, what would you have told him to say or do? What would you tell him to do now?” Allen wrote. “Email your answer to magazinesubmissions@politico.com.”

Allen promised to publish the results Friday evening and name a winner Monday.

Shortly after the newsletter was published, Democratic National Committee spokesman Mike Czin sent an email to reporters accusing Allen of trying to “help a Gov out” and offering his own suggestion for Christie.

“Chris Christie’s bridge scandal is growing – and Politico is trying to help a Gov out by crowdsourcing advice for the struggling Gov,” Czin wrote. “Here’s one pro-tip from the folks at the DNC: Stop attacking people asking serious questions, claiming it’s not a big deal and just come clean and explain why and how the lane closures happened.”
