Rep. Allyson Schwartz (D-PA) admitted in a story published Monday that it’s her plan to vacate her House seat and challenge Gov. Tom Corbett (R-PA) in the state’s gubernatorial race next year.

“It is my intention,” Schwartz, currently in her fifth term as a congresswoman, told the Philadelphia Daily News.

What’s motivated her to set her eyes on the governor’s mansion?

“I am very disappointed in the lack of leadership, vision and effectiveness of this governor,” Schwartz said of Corbett.

Schwartz may also be emboldened by a poll from Quinnipiac University released last month that showed Corbett with a negative approval rating at the midpoint of his first term.
