House Republicans took the first step to address an upcoming spike in student loan rates in legislation they passed this week, but Democrats are launching a campaign to attack their effort as damaging to students.

A web video released by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee highlights the possibility that the bill could lead to higher student loan rates — an indication that Democratic candidates in 2014 intend to campaign against it.
