Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO), who is in a tight race for re-election, is wading into the public debate on Rush Limbaugh’s comments attacking Sandra Fluke — and on plans by the Missouri Legislature to honor Limbaugh with a bust in the state capitol’s “Hall of Famous Missourians.”

McCaskill’s site has posted a “poll” asking readers for their opinion of the bust — with a section for the respondents’ names, e-mail addresses and ZIP codes.

Thus far, according to the site, 95.8 percent of respondents are saying no, with over 10,000 votes in.

Today, Missouri Republicans announced that talk show host Rush Limbaugh will be placed in the Hall of Famous Missourians in the Missouri House of Representatives next to Gen. Omar Bradley, Walt Disney, Stan Musial, Mark Twain, and Harry Truman.

Let me know what you think of this decision:

Just last week, Rush launched into a vitrolic (sic) attack of a law student who decided she wanted to utilize her first amendment rights to stand up for something she believed in. Limbaugh called her a ‘slut’ and a ‘prostitute’ for simply expressing her opinion.
