Top Democratic leaders, including Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV), and DSCC Chair Patty Murray (D-WA), are already being asked whether they might support independent former Gov. Angus King in the Maine Senate race.

The Hill reports:

“I’ve not talked to him,” Murray told The Hill Tuesday afternoon.

When asked if there was any chance the DSCC would back King, Murray did not rule it out. “I’m not going to get into the ‘what if’ games,” she said.

Meanwhile, Manu Raju of Politico reports, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid gave a humorous answer when asked whether he has spoken with King — saying that he has “never spoken to anybody named Angus.”
