Beginning Monday, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee will begin calling voters in several congressional districts attacking Republican incumbents for pledging to “Obamacare,” the DCCC announced Monday. Though the calls don’t mention the health care reform law by name, they attack Republicans for wanting to roll back some of the law’s most popular provisions, such as closing the donut hole for seniors or covering people with pre-existing conditions.
The calls begin like this one hitting Rep. Dan Lungren:
Hi, this is [name] from the DCCC calling with a warning. Congressman Dan Lungren has gone Washington. After taking more than $120,000 from insurance companies, Congressman Lungren wants to put insurance companies back in charge of our health care and let them:
– deny coverage to people with pre-existing conditions like asthma, heart disease and cancer,
– cut back your health benefits,
– throw some kids off their parents’ insurance,
– and roll back prescription coverage for seniors.
…
Congressman Lungren is looking out for himself and the big insurance corporations that fund his campaign, not the middle class.
The calls start today for the following incumbent Republicans, as well as candidate Rodney Davis in IL-13:
CA-07 Congressman Dan Lungren
CA-36 Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack
IL-10 Congressman Robert Dold
IL-11 Congresswoman Judy Biggert
IL-17 Congressman Bobby Schilling
MD-06 Congressman Roscoe Bartlett
NY-18 Congresswoman Nan Hayworth
NY-19 Congressman Chris Gibson
NY-24 Congresswoman Anne Marie Buerkle
