After Fox News’ Jesse Watters was universally criticized for a tone-deaf “O’Reilly Factor” segment that played on pretty much every stereotype about Asian Americans, the “Watters’ World” host issued a lukewarm apology to anyone who “found offense” with the “light” piece.

That wasn’t enough for “The Daily Show”’s Ronny Chieng, who put together his own segment on Thursday night skewering Watters as an “ignorant piece of shit.”

Chieng kicked things off by noting that Fox’s premise of sending a correspondent to New York City’s Chinatown because Donald Trump habitually mentioned China in his campaign events was inherently “dumb.”

“That’s like if they brought up women’s rights so I sent someone to Fox News to get some opinions,” Chieng snarked.

The “Daily Show” correspondent then retraced Watters’ trip to Chinatown, omitting the Fox host’s foot massage, awkward bowing, and inane questions about the Zodiac calendar.

Asked by Chieng to share their thoughts on the 2016 race, passersby provided thoughtful responses in Cantonese and Mandarin on the rising tide of xenophobia and distaste for both candidates.

After one woman noted that Trump’s rhetoric about China marked a dramatic shift for U.S.-Chinese relations, Chieng asked how she knew so much about U.S. politics.

“I’m from Queens,” she replied.

The best interview, in which Chieng asked a man if he’d seen Watters’ segment, came last.
