Comedian Jon Stewart tore into some of the latest 2014 campaign ads during Wednesday night’s episode of “The Daily Show,” saying they’re making the Senate look like an “adult summer camp competition or some six-year pass to Dave and Busters.”

Stewart discussed how important these midterm elections will be in determining which party ultimately controls the Senate. He focused on the races in Kentucky, Alaska, and Louisiana and the outlandish ads airing there.

Stewart showed an ad by Democratic challenger Alison Lundergan Grimes attacking the way in which Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) holds a gun.

“Well, I could see that you know McConnell’s weapon holding form would be an issue if Senators were our first line of defense against ISIS,” Stewart said. “But last I checked, their main job responsibilities were raising money for themselves and preventing laws from being enacted.”

Stewart moved on to Alaska’s race, where Sen. Mark Begich (D-AK) and Republican challenger Dan Sullivan released campaign ads heavily involving snow mobiles, which Alaskans call “snow machines.”

“Who cares who snow machines more authentically?” Stewart said. “You do know once you get to Washington, the whole snow machine issue is pretty moot.”

Stewart was aghast at the antics.

“If aliens came down to Earth and watched our political ads,” Stewart said, “they would think the Senate was an adult summer camp competition or some six year pass to Dave and Busters. We got shooting, snow machines, Friday night’s keg night. Come on down to the Senate!”
