Crossroads GPS announced a $2.6 million round of TV ads on Tuesday, aimed at the Senate races in Nevada, Ohio and Virginia.

One spot in Virginia attacks Democratic nominee Tim Kaine on the impending budget sequestrations: “First, Kaine backed the failed stimulus that helped create this budget mess. But now he supports cutting what matters: our jobs. Tim Kaine — questionable judgment.”

President Obama and Mitt Romney both suspended campaign ads on Sept. 11.

Kaine said launching such ads on a day of national remembrance were a “sad reflection of the divisiveness of our politics that outside groups like Crossroads GPS cannot set aside false partisan attacks.”
