Former FIFA presidential candidate Mohamed Bin Hammam has successfully appealed his lifetime ban from the sport’s governing body, according to BBC. The Court of Arbitration for Sport found that there was insufficient evidence to ban Bin Hammam, who was accused of attempting the buy votes in his unsuccessful bid for the presidency.

FIFA announced that Bin Hammam would remain under suspension until a separate investigation is concluded by the Asian Football Confederation, of which Bin Hammam was once director. Bin Hammam allegedly attempted to funnel $40,000 to delegates during a meeting in Trinidad and Tobago last year.
