Having already rescued a person from a house fire, Newark, N.J. Mayor Cory Booker has now saved another species from danger.
After a local reporter expressed concern on Twitter for a dog that was enduring frigid conditions outside on Thursday, Booker responded to the journalists — and the cold canine. A prolific Twitter user, the high-profile mayor frequently responds directly to constituents on the social networking service.
The reporter, who works for a local ABC affiliate, captured the rescue and presented the footage as a news package.
