The Associated Press reports that Komen Foundation vice-President Karen Handel has quit the cancer charity.
The former politician became the focus of much media attention after the foundation cut its funding to Planned Parenthood. In Handel’s run for Governor of Georgia she had expressed hostile views to abortion and Planned Parenthood.
The AP reported that she announced her resignation in a letter to Komen officials on Tuesday morning.
