A Colorado man arrested last week on suspicion of harassing a lawmaker pushing gun control legislation allegedly used menacing language in emails and voicemails to her, the Denver Post reported Monday.

In one email to state Rep. Rhonda Fields (D-Aurora), according to an affidavit, Franklin Glenn Sain also mentioned Rep. Beth McCann (D-Denver) and allegedly wrote: “Hopefully somebody Giffords both of your asses with a gun….”

And in an unsigned letter to Fields, police believe Sain wrote: “I keep my 30 Round Magazines There Will Be Blood! I’m Coming For You!”

Fields has sponsored legislation calling for increased background checks for gun sales and a ban on high-capacity magazines.

Sain told police, according to the report, that in the messages he was “voicing some frustrations about a topic I consider sacred.”
