Stephen Colbert and former presidential candidate Herman Cain will appear together in South Carolina on Friday to tape a segment for the late-night comedian’s show, The Colbert Report.
Colbert is “exploring” a run for president of the “United States of South Carolina,” but since he can’t appear as a write-in candidate on the ballot, he is throwing his support behind the former pizza magnate. Cain told Fox411 he is pleasantly surprised to have the support.
“On Stephen Colbert’s endorsement of himself as Herman Cain, I find it very clever and humorous, as it should be,” Cain said. “Anyone who finds what Mr. Colbert is doing offensive, should simply lighten up. To be perfectly clear, I will not be assuming Stephen Colbert’s identity. We are very different when it comes to the color of our –– hair.”
