New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) will campaign for Gov. Scott Walker (R-WI) ahead of the state’s June 5th gubernatorial recall election. Walker faces the contest after organized labor advocates and Democrats collected over 900,000 signatures to force a recall after the governor and the Republican-led legislature passed a measure restricting collective bargining rights, arguing it was necessary to curtail state and local budgets.
Christie and Walker will hit events in Milwaukee and Green Bay on May 1st. From a Patch report in Sussex, Wisconsin:
Details were sketchy, but it appears anyone who wants to attend one of the two events will have to contribute $20 to Walker and will then be entered into a drawing for the chance to take part.
“With your $20 contribution to Governor Walker’s campaign, you will be given a chance to not only see these two men of action in person, but will have a keepsake of a lifetime to take home with you,” according to an email the Walker campaign sent out Wednesday. “You may enter as many times as you like and with each $20 contribution, your chances of winning will increase.”
Those chosen to attend the two events would get a chance to have their photos taken with Walker and Christie, who the Walker campaign described as “two of the greatest voices for conservative causes in the United States.”
