New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) told CNN on Monday that he had a “rollicking, private” call with Donald Trump when the business guru told him that he’d chosen Indiana Gov. Mike Pence as his running mate.
Christie, who was on the short list for consideration as Trump’s vice president, told CNN’s Dana Bash that he is “really comfortable and confident” in his role on Trump’s campaign and is focusing on Trump’s potential transition to the White House.
When Bash asked Christie what the conversation was like with Trump informed him of his vice presidential pick, Christie called it a conversation “that is typical of our relationship for the last 14 years.”
“Which means it was free wheeling and rollicking and private,” he said.
