Chaffetz Still Not Ready To Drop Probe Into Hillary Clinton's Emails

He said that the committee has several top priorities and that investigating Clinton and her email use is one of them.

Chaffetz also said he would hold Trump accountable.

"My job in this role is not to protect or be a cheerleader for the president. It’s just not. I’m not here to defend him at every turn," he said, according to Buzzfeed News.

But Chaffetz added that he is constrained by the law when it comes to investigating Trump's potential conflicts of interest.

"My concern is that there is compliance with the law. I will tell you the president is exempt from a lot of these. I didn't write these laws but that's the reality of it," he said, according to NBC News.

He added that "maybe some of that should be tightened up but it's not something I dove into," per NBC.
